SALTUS™ Composite Mine Roof Support Products Introduction
Why use Saltus composite products?
Fibreglasselongate support (roof props): before and after load test
SALTUS™ elongates available (as standard) for 20-, 30-, 40- and 50-ton support (or specific design loads on request)
SaltusTM elongates available (as standard) for 20-, 30-, 40- and 50-ton support (or specific design loads on request)
Elongates can be ordered in any length and diameter will be chosen to prevent buckling for the specific length
Load test on SALTUS™ 50 ton support
Underground test: Before and after blast
SALTUS™ BlastShield
Plastic sleeve protects fibreglass pole from rock blast
It prevents damage to the fibreglass prop
It prevents the prop from being cut by a flying rock from a blast
The Blast Shield is a sleeve that can easily be clipped around the prop (snapfit) underground
OR
Inserted around the prop during or post manufacture of the prop

Fibreglass Elongate (Roof props): Advantages compared to alternatives
Engineered performance
Guaranteed load support – any specific load can be guaranteed
Very large deformation range achievable
Lighterweightcomparedtocurrenttimbersupports(typically 1/3 the weight of a timber elongate).
Length-Availableinanyrequested length–undergroundcutting possible
No flammability issues–recent phenolicresin development making pole affordable and 100% flame resistant
Rockblastshieldcanbeappliedpre or post installation on supports closest to blast face
Lower cost compared to composite alternatives due to patented design with new advances in composites
Saltus Friction Anchored Rock Bolt (Splitset)
The composite bolt is UV resistant and does not corrode or perish when exposed to water or common chemicals.
The composite bolt offers shear properties that provide some shear resistance against rock movement but with a shear resistance low enough to allow the bolt to be cut by mining activity or equipment. If exposed to protrude into excavations, the bolt is easily trimmed flush to the rock surface.
As tramp material in extracted ore or waste rock, the composite bolt is designed to crush without producing sharp edges or shards and is less likely to damage or jam conveyor belts, processing plant equipment or vehicle tires.
The installation and tensile load performance of the composite bolt is comparable to that offered by standard steel friction bolts.
The composite bolt is approximately half the weight of conventional steel friction anchors, allowing easier handling and transport.
The composite materials used to manufacture the composite bolt are non-toxic
SALTUS™ Resin (or Grout) Anchored Composite Rock Bolt
Plastic sleeve protects fibreglass pole from rock blast
The patented design does not have a specific left hand or right-hand spin orientation – it can be spun in both directions
Any length
Easy to use composite cap nut and bar system
